CymaScope App 2.0
The first-generation CymaScope app was built in 2015 and broke new ground, making it possible for the first time to visualise music in shimmering cymatic beauty. Now, in 2025, the CymaScope app 2.0 is born into a world in which people are much more aware of frequencies than a decade ago—a world in which healing with Frequency Medicine is becoming mainstream. The new CymaScope app supports this trend with an articles section on subjects including Sonic Science and Frequency Medicine, which will build over time, creating a repository of specialist knowledge, because the articles are accessed online.
Extended bandwidth
This powerful new app has a much-extended bandwidth, starting at the low frequency of 27 Hz up to a high of 2,217 Hz. By way of comparison, the highest frequency that a female soprano can reach is 1,046 Hz, and the lowest frequency that a male bass vocalist can sing is around 70 Hz, so the new CymaScope app has a bandwidth that extends far beyond human singing in both the high and low registers.
Video showcase
The video section of the app contains several state-of-the-art CymaScope videos created by James Stuart Reid, showing the beauty revealed when music is imprinted onto pure water in the CymaScope Pro laboratory instrument.
For musicians & performers
Musician users will be able to show an audience the imagery created by their music by mirroring the app to a large-screen computer or TV monitor, or to a video projector.
